I was born in the cold Twin Cities but raised in sunny South Florida, where my parents — first-generation immigrants — taught me never to take opportunity for granted. Their example of hard work sparked in me a lifelong drive to grow, learn, and give back.
As my family was establishing roots in the United States, we moved around a lot. I was shy as a child, but going to three different middle schools helped me to come out of my shell and enjoy building connections with others.
Another pivotal moment for me is when my mom "voluntold" my brother and me to join the high school swim team. I had never played sports before, but I grew to love the team comradery, the discipline, and pushing my limits beyond what I thought was possible.
Thanks to swimming (and Momma Lan), fitness and nutrition have become an integral part of my life.
My natural curiosity unleashes itself in my hobbies and work. Whether it's playing guitar, Olympic weightlifting, photography, or homebrewing beer, I enjoy delving deep into the intricacies of each subject and appreciating their unique challenges. This same curiosity reflects in how I approach my work in dentistry, driving my progress exponentially.
Above all, I believe in service before self. Inspired by my grandfather, a military veteran, I joined the United States Air Force after graduation and had the privilege of caring for the men and women who protect our nation .
Another big inspiration in my life was Dr. Tim Garvey, who led humanitarian service trips to the Dominican Republic. Accompanying him on these trips in dental school further stoked my fire for service, a passion which later led me to meet the love of my life.
Every step of my journey so far has molded me into the person I am today and will continue to shape how I grow as a clinician, a leader, a son, and a loving partner.

"To help our patients rediscover their personal origin of health — reclaiming what was lost and building a strong foundation for the future through democratizing exceptional dentistry to the hardworking families in our community."
Integrity first. Doing the right thing, especially when nobody is looking. Being true to ourselves first allows us to serve others with honesty and respect.
Stewardship. "the careful and responsible management of something entrusted to one's care." We are all part of a living ecosystem and each hold the responsibility to do our part in caring for it. We work to integrate this mindset of consideration for others in all that we do.
Always do your best. We're human, we are not always at our 100%. But what matters is giving 100% of whatever we have with earnest effort. We strive to constantly improve ourselves and maintain an attitude of being 'forever a student'.
